**Job title:**

Senior Planning and Performance Analyst US Finance



**Role synopsis:**

The Sr. Planning and Performance Analyst contributes to driving planning, forecasting and performance management processes. The goal of the team is to provide clear and tangible performance view to inform forward decision-making processes and improve the financial performance of the North America Fuels business. The team communicates regularly with the Business entity teams within Fuels North America to understand and communicate past financial results and forecast future performance. The team also networks with other BP businesses to ensure consistent approach in planning and performance management activities. This role will focus on the regular monthly Commercial Business Management (CBM) cadence that involves: leading and facilitating the Financial Review (FR) meetings as part of CBM, preparing financialized CBM performance outlook during specific monthly cycles, leverage the use of Vulnerabilities & Opportunities (V&O) for CBM and Response Plan processes. The role sits on the CBM coordinators network, attends the other CBM reviews (Supply Review and Demand Review), and plays a key role in driving clarity around our financial CBM forecasts.

The Sr. Planning & Performance Analyst is a member of the North America Fuels SPU Planning and Performance Reporting (PPR) Team located in Chicago.

**Key accountabilities:**

+ Facilitate the Financial Review (FR) meeting as part of the regular CBM process. Take active role as a member of the CBM Coordinators network.

+ Prepare financial summary, analysis, reconciliations and gap analysis supporting CBM outlooks and forecasts

+ Prepare analysis of V&Os, generate related insights and drive performance conversations with each entity to support insightful and constructive management of performance delivery

+ Perform financial analysis and assist with presentations and template creation for GFO Submissions, Annual Plan, Quarterly and Monthly Actuals, Response Plan submissions and other PPR activities

+ Provide Continuous Improvement (CI) leadership for the SPU PPR team and implement opportunities to drive MI modernization, including report automation and digital delivery for the business and specifically for Finance and CBM processes

+ Ad hoc assignments including preparation of materials for Leadership Team meetings, Performance Reviews; leading performance discussions with various work groups to help broaden understanding of business trends and drivers;

**Essential Education:**

Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required

**Desirable criteria and qualifications:**

+ Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint

+ Bachelor's degree or an advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Engineering with a financial focus

+ A refining, marketing or supply chain background

+ Strong communication and presentation skills

+ Self-motivated and self-starting, and able to work in \"stand alone\" situations

+ Demonstrated strong analytical skills, and the ability to bring analytical

+ Solutions to sometimes ambiguous business information

+ Demonstrated a solid grasp of business concepts, realistic judgment and quantitative and critical thinking skills
