Responsible for the direct planning and manufacturing execution support of new products from an early plan phase through manufacturing launch. The position requires partnering with multiple functions within the organization, including Engineering, Product Management, Program Management, Procurement, Production Planning, Production Management, Proposals team and Cost Accounting. The primary goal is to align the NPI project plan with the necessary disciplines to assure timely execution and overall success of the product development and release. Incorporating the ERP system and its tools is required to achieve success.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
+ Collaborate with Engineering and Product Management to understand NPI demand, including both internal and external Customers.
+ Assure master data in ERP for each item and BOM are accurate
+ Create Planning BOM s and demand as product develops
+ Coordinate with Procurement for qualification and risk assessment of any new Suppliers for the project
+ Track design completion of procured items and subsequent status of all material purchases for the project
+ Identify potential shortages based off design delays, Supplier capacity constraints or other factors
+ Coordinate with Engineering and Procurement to estimate cost of goods at various quantities as the product is developed
+ Transition to Production Planning when product is released
+ 3 to 5 years experience in a new product planning role
+ BS in Operations Management
+ Proficient Microsoft Office skills
+ SAP experience preferred
